[eclipse.org-membership-at-large] openMobility Interest Group announcement
All,
A proposal has been made to establish the openMobility Interest Group.
You may recall openMobility has been operating as a formal Eclipse Foundation Working Group for many years; however, with the addition of Interest Groups earlier this year as a lighter-weight governance structure, the existing members of the working group have chosen to now establish openMobility as an Eclipse Interest Group. 

The scope for the openMobility interest group states it will provide a place for collaboration and strategic coordination for Eclipse Foundation projects on the following topics:

  • Microscopic and Mesoscopic Traffic Simulation

  • Mobility demand generation
  • Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure Communication Simulation
  • Pedestrian Dynamics Simulation
  • Simulator Coupling infrastructure

  • Interfaces to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and Intelligent Transportation Systems solutions

All Members of the Eclipse Foundation may join the interest group and there is no extra cost involved to do so.  Should you wish to join, please subscribe to the mailing list [2] and indicate your organization’s interest in participation.  
Based on the Interest Group Process [3], the interest group will be officially created in January, 2023.
