[eclipse.org-members-committers] Upcoming Reviews, August 11-17/2011

We have four reviews scheduled this week.

First up is the EMF Query Restructuring Review [1]. This review will
result in the existing EMF Query project being split in two, resulting
in the creation of a new EMF Query2 sibling project. The Query2
component facilitates the process of search and retrieval of emf model
elements in a structured format with an additional advantage that
resource loading is minimized during
execution.

Next up, is the Gemini Web 2.0 [2] and Virgo 3.0 [3] release reviews.
The main objective of the Gemini Web 2.0 release is to upgrade to
Tomcat 7 and servlet 3.0; Gemini Web has been reworked to pass OSGi Web
Applications Compliance Tests and to continue to be the OSGi Web
Applications Reference Implementation. The main objective of the Virgo
3.0 release is to provide closer integration with other Eclipse RT project.

We wrap up this week with the Java EE Module Configuration Editors
Creation Review [4]. This new Web Tools project will deliver editors for
Java EE module configurations. The editors are built using Sapphire.
Each editor brings in information from the module's XML configuration
file as well as the relevant annotations into a unified view. A user can
edit a setting using the same UI whether it is stored in the XML
configuration file or a Java annotation.

Please direct any comments or questions you have about these reviews to
the communication channels indicated in the corresponding review
documentation.

We've also posted two new project proposals.

The Sisu [5] project provides a complete dependency injection framework
with specific capabilities for bridging to OSGi.

The Aether [6] project provides a general-purpose artifact resolution
mechanism that can be embedded in any Java program. The Aether project
also provides Ant Tasks that allow Ant builds to have the exact same
dependency management capabilities as Maven 3.x. The Aether project does
not providing any UI related to dependency management.

Remember that the deadline for submissions [7] for EclipseCon Europe is
fast approaching. Get your submissions in.

Thanks,

Wayne
