Just a quick update for those who may just be coming online or able to
focus on this for a short while today.
1 – We really hope to have closure on the top 5 today.
2 – The goal is to have a good representation of talks to present,
various topics, lengths, styles.
3 – There is a working spreadsheet available here: http://tr.im/HpO9
4 – I think voting is not necessarily the final way we should pick the
winners (i.e., we have to look a bit at picking representative talks
and matching things up), but I think it’s a great way to help us start
with some no brainers.
Just putting out a straw man based on those who have made some notes…
(Again, this is just a straw man!)
These three seem like no brainers:
- 1134 “Eclipse to the rescue”, Extended, Making For.
- 1199 “Lego Mindstorm”, Lightning, Making With.
- 1210 “The Good, the bad, the ugly”, Standard, Making Community
If you agree those 3 are no brainers, for the remaining 2, I think we
need something e4, Modeling, Runtime, OSGi, Tutorial – ish.
So, while 1203 “Linux IDE” has more votes than others, I’m not sure it
helps us round out a good representation.
I like 1191 “Xtext meets e4” – because it has some modeling and e4 and
is a tutorial, and xtext is pretty cool.
1128 might make a good fit as well, because it’s OSGi and would appeal
to the enterprisey IT types too.
