Sorry for the urgency, hoping to have this debated with the group today so that we can go an implement ASAP if there is consensus.

 

What would you think about having a promotion for EclipseCon submissions that goes like this:

 

-          Submit a talk by December 10^th to be eligible.

-          The program committee will pick 5 great talks from those submitted by December 10^th , (we’ll do this via email on the 11^th and over the weekend if necessary)

-          We will announce those 5 great talks on December 14^th

-          A speaker from each of the chosen talks will get a cool piece of schwag – i.e., a polo shirt, sweater or the like.

 

I don’t think we’d call this a contest – just a way to encourage earlier submissions, and to show off how good the content is going to be (i.e., try to raise the bar for the hockey stick submitters)
