[eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] EclipseCon 2010 Conference Call 14oct09
|
It just happens to be crunch time where I am here, so I've
not got much for the agenda this week. I'd like to get a
final round of feedback from you all, specifically on the
talk times.
The proposal that's there at the moment is similar to
last year, basically you get an hour slot, which can be
split into 1, 2, 4 or 5 talks, giving Long, Short and
two different types of Lightning.
On panels, Scott has kindly sent over some links, which I reproduce
here with thanks and I should have sent them out earlier.

A quick update on what sort of panel recruiting is going
on
* Bjorn has volunteered to recruit for software craftsmanship
panel, if you have ideas, shout em out to the list, or better
still volunteer to help.
* I cornered Scott into recruiting for 'making dough from
open source' panel, so it's only fair I volunteer to help
I think two persons recruiting for a panel would be ideal
* I've volunteered to recruit for Open Source SOA panel
and have some feelers out.
To use an expression which I ascribe to David Williams (although
I could be wrong), now I will pick volunteers :)
Ketan, Dave - you guys are hot on testing. Do you think
you could recruit for a panel on that topic?
Doug (S) - you have brought up the topic of enterprise
adoption of Eclipse. A Panel on that - Eclipse in the
Enterprise would be good. Do you think you could sign
up to recruit? Eclipse Foundation should have lots of
info on that.
Chris - Eclipse and the runtime - one for you if you have
the space to get on the case.
Doug (G) - what do you know about Eclipse on mobile
and other devices, do you think we could make a panel
on it?
Wayne, David - definitely a panel on the Eclipse Foundation
itself would be awesome. You would be the right men for
the job of constructing it, I think.
Ed/Bernd - why is modelling so important to Eclipse? Important
to productivity? A panel discussion might be useful to show how.
One more of course - the future of Eclipse. This could
be two panels - future of the community, future of the
foundation. Do you think we could make two of it.
In other news, myself and Gabe will be putting together the
pieces for the submission system, and I will be updating
the wiki with information and guidelines for the submitters.
The goal is to open submissions as soon as possible.
On keynotes, one invite has gone out, no feedback just yet,
you will be the first to know.
