[eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Platform UI / RCP Preliminary Review

Platform UI / RCP (allocation: 4h short, 4 long, 1 main stage, 3 tutorial)

Short (20 allocated, 21 submitted)

We've gone through and accepted a few. Generally, we lean towards accepting submissions as 10 minute talks even when submitted as 30 minutes. Waiting for responses from submitters.
Also, there are some interesting RCP case study submissions in the Business category - will some of those be accepted? Needs coordination with Donald Smith.

Long (4+1 main stage allocated, 12 submitted, 3 tentative accepts)

This category was tough... a lot of good submissions. So far, we have two tentative accepts plus one for the main stage - we're thinking of combining the Swiss Railway talk and the NASA talk. (Note that both are currently in the Business track.) We would like to see both these parties work together to to do a case study.

Note that one of the tentative accepts is a submission by Ketan Padegaonkar. His other submissions have a lot of overlap and should not be accepted as well.

We also liked a usability talk but suggested 30 minutes for it.

Tutorials (3 allocated, 6 submitted, 2 tentative accepts)

Two tentative accepts so far. Still debating the third, or whether to go for two two-hour tutorials.
