Re: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] First Meeting

Scott: Could you please change the names of the calendar items from "Call <n>" to something like "EclipseCon PC Call <n>"? I have started to use Google calendar for tracking other calls as well, and this would make it easier to understand at a glance what the calls are about.

Jeff: Not sure if you have seen this but Google calendar allows you to set up multiple reminders, using emails as well as pop-ups.

Re: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] First Meeting

I will modify the remaining calendar items to have a 15 minute reminder with the call in details. Like Ed, I use lightning/thunderbird with the Google Provider and it works great.

Also, I will have minutes out for Tuesday's meeting later today. I have been at another conference this week and am finally back at my desk and able to dig out from the mess.

      Jeff,

I think Google calendar allows you to set an entry so it produces a popup reminder; you can even control how many minutes ahead of time it pops up. I think such reminders are a good idea; I certainly set it for any calendar entries I create on my own calendar. Perhaps Scott would consider modifying the entries to include a notification. For folks who might not know about it, I use "Lightning" and "Provider for Google Calendar" add-ons for Thunderbird and it's really quite nice.

Sigh, I too am a calendar loser. My calendar is linked to the google calendar but there does not appear to be a way to get warnings. As a result, I worked right through this...

Perhaps Boris and I should cross notify each other to ensure we don't miss the next meeting.

          My sincere apologies.

              All,

              9am CST
              8am MST

                              - One fewer concurrent session - less is more
                              - Tutorials are four hours instead of two - more opportunity to have hands on time. Invite commercial learning companies.

                              - Fewer concurrent sessions + two new categories + reserved category = Fewer Sessions per Category
                              - Goal was to be fair
                              - There is no limit on the number of reserved talks that a category can pick up

                              - How do we get not only good subjects, but great presenters?
                              - There is no excuse for not being prepared, or not having a good presentation

                              - Do we want a references section as part of the submission system?
                              - Can we implement a presentation review system? (new presenters only?)
