RE: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Using Bugzilla flags forvoting

Bjorn, as infrastructure guru and organization, I'll defer to your
judgment. Ed also raised the practical concern that our votes will need
to be "reset" if we are to repurpose them for long talks (and then
eventually short talks) or we'll need to increase the number of votes
per person and rely on the honor system to limit voting on a per-type
basis.

Subject: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Using Bugzilla flags
forvoting

Hi!

Is it possible to configure one flag in Eclipsezilla for each PC member
(i.e.: create a group for each PC member containing only the PC member;
create a flag for each PC member and give grant access for the flag to
that group, naming schema for the flags: "Vote_PC_Members_Name"; allow
requesting of votes only by the chair)? I can help configuring this.

I think this is a simple solution to have special voting flags for
EclipseCon PC members. This would also allow positive (+), negative (-)
and neutral ( ) votes as well as requesting of votes.

The community is still allowed to vote via the regular Bugzilla voting
feature. Thus, we know the community popularity of a submission and can
take this into account when selecting submissions.

I already suggested this earlier (see below) but the message somehow got
lost.

Cu, Gunnar

Can we enable the Bugzilla flag system for this? IMHO this would ease
the process of counting the votes.

For example, each member of the program committee would have a flag,
that he can set to + or - or leave unset. The Bugzilla permission
systems allows that only the person responsible for a flag is able to
set it.

I'm afraid that our votes will be lost inside the comments or the
Bugzilla voting system, which makes it hard to count them.
