| Hi,
The bug IS a regression introduced in Neon M3 or earlier milestone.
The patch was pushed in Gerrit in December last year. It's a pity it
did not grab committers attention for Neon.0. Now it skips Neon.1...

Sure, it is not a stop ship for the Platform. It only affect a
    limited number of adopters.

Is there any process that guarantees that the patch won't be
    forgotten for Neon.2?

 Thanks,
 Kaloyan

This is not a regression and not
        a stop
ship bug. We can target Update 2.

 Hi,

The the fix for bug bug 482765 [1] is simple and safe. It is
        already merged
for Oxygen M2. I'd like to request downporting it for Neon.1.

The NullPointerException affects adopters like us who have the
        TextSearchControl
used in a customer editor. This problem is visible to users when
        restarting
the IDE having this custom editor opened. After the restart, the
        editor
        is completely broken.
