A committer election for Ed Merks on project Eclipse Equinox
(eclipse.equinox) was started by Lars Vogel with this criteria:

I would like to nominate Ed as Equinox/p2 committer. Ed is well known in the
community and a very experienced committer. Ed is already a platform
committer and Equinox and platform are very closely coupled.

Ed expressed this interest in helping with cleanup work in Equinox/p2. AFAIK
he also is a heavy user of p2 with his Eclipse Oomph project and setup so I
expect that Ed will also be able to improve this area.
