[eclipse-dev] RCP usage of org.eclipse.core.resources

Hi,
My team is planning to make an application with Eclipse-RCP. We have been
using Eclipse Platform for around an year from now.
We want to know if an RCP based application can transparently use the
common resource model from org.eclipse.core.resources.* plugin of
Eclipse Platform.

Our requirement is a rich client application using the Eclipse's
extension model, eclipse JFace/SWT based windowing and the common
resource model.

So can anyone throw light on this question if they had a prior
experience or know-how of using org.eclipse.core.resources.* plugin in
an RCP application
