[eclipse-dev] Eclipse 3.0 New Look released to HEAD


At 3pm on Friday (after the M7 build) we have moved a significant amount of new UI work into HEAD.  The following projects were changed:
org.eclipse.jface
org.eclipse.ui.ide
org.eclipse.ui.workbench
org.eclipse.ui.workbench.texteditor

This new UI work changes the look of the main eclipse workbench window significantly.

Here are some of the things you will notice:
- Title bars and Tabs for views and editors look different
- Title bars and Tabs for views and editors include icons to zoom them
- Views include a button for collapsing them
- Perspective switching/opening toolbar has moved
- Fastview bar can be on the left or right
- Fastview bar size is reduced when there are no fast views
- Drag and Drop has been improved (better feedback while dragging)
- Detached views are supported  (Windows and Linux GTK only, due to platform limitations)
- Editor management has changed - single tab editing supported as well as multi-tab
- View local toolbar work is ongoing
- Experimenting with different uses of colour
- Borders added to selected pane to enhance focus indication
- Other miscellaneous items such as status bar changes etc...
