Title: serialver

There was a thread on this some months back in the old tools newsgroup. You can search for it if you like. As I recall, the net was that there is no guarantee two different compilers will caculate the same id so if you want one to be stable across compilers, explicitly specify one.

Does anybody know why the SerialVersionUID calculated when compiled by Eclipse differs from the SerialVersionUID calculated by the normal javac. Even when the sourcecode is the same and the JRE environment is the same ?
