Yes, the map files are used in both
integration and nightly builds.  

To be explicit, the feature definitions
determine which nested features (if there are any) and plugins/fragments
are built and packaged into the runtimes.  The map files are read
to obtain the information on where to fetch these.  The tags in the
map files are only used in integration builds.  For nightly builds,
the tags are ignored and plugins and features are fetched from the HEAD
stream.  

Hope this provides more clarity.

Should be fixed now .

My misconception was that the map files are only consulted for the
integration builds but not for the nightly builds. Since I didn't want
to
release the plug-in for the integration build I didn't add it to the map
file.
