| Re: [ecf-dev] Interested in VNC over ECF GSoc Project |
Hi Jayasanka,
For your information, we've got an enhancement request for VNC support
with ECF, it's here:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=239854
I would suggest that you join that bug (i.e. add yourself to cc).
Note that the dsdp project's 'tools for mobile linux' (tml) project
already has the VNC client protocol implemented as a set of
bundles/plugins (under EPL and all), and so this can/could be used by
you and/or others to implement screen sharing. We (ECF) have been
planning to use this work in tml for some time, but have not had the
resources to do so.
Thanks,
Scott

Hi James, Hi Mustafa,

Thanks a lot for your quick responses. I going to submit a proposal
for "VNC over ECF" since it's open and not assigned to anyone. I'll do
my best to prepare it before End of Today.

As I said also very interested in Google Calendar using ECF. With
available time it's difficult to prepare proposal for another idea.
But I'll do my best to prepare another one.
Thanks,
Jayasanka

Even though there is another student interested in working on the
Google Calendar integration, there is nothing wrong with you applying
    for that project, too.
Project ideas, students that have showed interest in certain tasks and
potential mentors are listed on the eclipse wiki
    http://wiki.eclipse.org/Google_Summer_of_Code_2009_Ideas
As far as your application for the program goes, the official route is
    via Google's official GSoC site.
I'm not 100% sure, but IIRC you can apply to more than a single
    project with a dedicated application.
    Cheers,
    Mustafa
