The Eclipse Dataspace Working Group (EDWG) operates under a robust governance structure, as outlined in its charter. This charter establishes four key committees responsible for guiding various facets of the working group's activities.
Specifically, one elected representative seat on each committee is allocated to both Participant and Committer Member Representatives. It's important to note that Strategic Members of the EDWG are appointed a dedicated seat on these governing bodies, reflecting their significant contributions and strategic alignment.
Current Election Focus:
While the EDWG charter identifies four committees, the current operational structure dictates a focused election. At this time, the general responsibilities of the Technical Advisory and Marketing Committees are managed by the Steering Committee. Furthermore, there are currently no Participant Members within this working group.
Consequently, the upcoming election is specifically focused on filling one Committer Member seat for two crucial committees: the Steering Committee and the Specification Committee.
The Eclipse Foundation is pleased to announce that it will facilitate this election on behalf of the Eclipse Dataspace Working Group using the following timetable:
Elections Schedule:
July 21 - July 28 - Call for Nominations
July 29: Announce Candidates Standing
July 30 - Aug 8: Ballots Distributed (Voting Period)
Aug 11: Announce Election Results
Nomination Eligibility
Committer Members are those who are engaged in projects under the purview of the working group. Committers may be considered members by virtue of either a) being employed by a working group corporate member, or b) an individual committer who has executed the Individual Working Group’s Individual Participation Agreement. If you are interested but unsure if you are a committer member, please reach out to us and/or learn more here.
Nominations, indicating the related Committee, must be sent to this mailing list. Once the nomination period closes, confirmed candidates will be announced and ballots emailed to eligible voters. The election will follow the Eclipse “Single Transferable Vote” method, as defined in the Eclipse Bylaws. Elected candidate(s) will be announced on this mailing list after the election closes. Self-nominations are welcome, and current seat holders are encouraged to self-nominate if they wish to continue.
Nominations are now open, and we encourage nominees to include a short bio highlighting relevant experience. If you are nominating yourself, please provide this along with your email submission. If you are accepting a nomination made by someone else, kindly share a brief bio to help the selection process.
Regards,
