I may have missed this, but will the data be open as well, like the download numbers are today?

I've not seen an answer to this, and I think information about how this data will be used, who it will be shared with and how it will be protected is essential. Since any plugin can read the UUIDs from the local machine, it becomes trivial to create a one-to-one mapping between them and a user's git credential, user name, etc... 

This is concerning.
