Re: [concierge-dev] change of git repository layout

All: I've added two supporting bundles to master:

- org.eclipse.concierge.extension.permission: contains OSGi permissionadmin and condpermadmin packages as framework extension
- org.eclipse.concierge.service.xmlparser: contains OSGi XML parser specification implementation

permission bundle will be needed to run Equinox console on Concierge.
xmlparser bundle will be needed to run Equinox registry on Concierge, as it relies on OSGi XML parser spec

Hi Jochen and Tim,

I like the bundle name proposal. Let's do that, I will change my bundle name accordingly.

Regarding commits, we have been relatively informal about them in the past, meaning that everybody pushes into the master unless there is some sort of long-running disruptive sets of changes that would make a branch more feasible.

Cheers,

Jan.

Hi all,
I was last week in holidays, but am back at work now.
I guess we can also integrate Jochen's extention bundles (permission extention and xml parser bundle) into the concierge repository then.

I would like to do that.

Do you agree with bundle names as actually used?
- org.eclipse.concierge.extension.permission
- org.eclipse.concierge.service.xmlparser

Should indicate:
- Concierge framework extensions
- additional services provided by Concierge

Jan named the package admin bundle "org.eclipse.concierge.packageadmin", which would be "org.eclipse.concierge.service.packageadmin" following my proposal.

Any comments?

Regarding commits: Shall I commit into a branch which will be merged by Jan/Tim into Master? Or shall I directly commit into master?

Bye, Jochen

I just pushed a major change to the repository layout, basically moving the framework into a subdirectory and making space for bundles. Please pull the changes soon to avoid merge conflicts.
I also added an initial implementation of a package admin bundle since some of our consumers use bundles which still rely on this API.
