[che-dev] Samsung ARTIK IDE Powered by Eclipse Che

All:

Yesterday Samsung announced a new IDE built on top of Eclipse Che.  Here is a round up of the news around the project. Looks like this project will be extended to be part of the ARTIK cloud, and also used for other Samsung platforms that need to build bridges to developers.

Yesterday, Samsung announced the Samsung ARTIK™ IDE powered by Eclipse Che. The ARTIK IDE will be an IoT IDE for a range of Samsung platforms, unlocking IoT development for for developers regardless of project, location or skillset.

Eclipse Che is on a roll. Q1 had >100K downloads and 500K workspaces created. Che is being used in a variety of projects related to Scala, Raspberry Pi, Beaglebone, Cloud Foundry, C, C++, Python, and Rails. There has been tremendous demand around extensions so that Che can be packaged into other products. We will soon publish a plugin resource center to simplify extension development for programming languages and developer tools.

The ARTIK IDE is a good example of a custom assembly. Let me know if you’d like a demo.
