Hmm, I tried again running under JRE 1.5, and didn't see the APT error, but ...
saw another ... pasted below. Have I not copied some requirement correctly? 

(I hope the APT error was't a red-herring). Also ... I think this "staging"
copy 
came from running the Update's ant task "mirror", from a linux command line ...
I hope its a true "mirror everything" and doesn't just pick up linux pre
reqs!).
