| Hi Everyone,
 (/cc LTS IWG mailing list)

Today an important meeting took place discussing the plan for the
Eclipse platform to switch to distributing binaries produced from
the CBI build rather than the legacy PDE build.

More important details here: The CBI build for the Eclipse platform has made considerable progress. It is now possible
for someone without prior experience to build Eclipse for
themselves in a matter of minutes. Thanks to Igor Fedorenko,
Thanh Ha, and Paul Webster for their excellent work to enable
        this.
Juno SR1 (Sept. 28th) was set as the date for the Eclipse
Platform to cut over to start delivering via. the CBI build
rather than the legacy PDE build.
In today's discussion, the team agreed SR1 is not feasible
for cut-over. Will be picking a new Kepler milestone to target
cut-over of both Kepler and Juno.
Now is the time for interested parties to invest in CBI.
Special thanks to Krzysztof Daniel & the team from Red Hat
for demonstrating leadership in this area and making significant
contributions. Others are encouraged to get involved. Please ask
on the cbi-dev mailing list or contact me in private for ways to
        get involved.

This clearly adds risk to Juno LTS starting for SR2 given how
crucial the CBI build for the platform is to enable LTS.
