Hi Jiaqi,
if it is possible for your to narrow down the current problem this would be great. General hints about the developer resources can be found here. It seems to be at least a dependency problem with jface in one of the plugin.xml files. I wonder why this was not detected during the build process of the last eclipse releases.
If you want to test Open-BPMN it is at the moment easiest to install the Extension into a vs-code IDE. And in the same way we will adapt it as a new Plugin for Eclipse IDE. So it should be very easy to use for you.
Also Open-BPMN supports the BPMN 2 extension mechanism. And I think we made it easier as now only the language server need to be extended.
You are talking about jbpmn engine. Is not there a separate modeller available? Why do you need the Eclipse BPMN2 plugin exactly?
Best regards
Ralph

Hi Ralph,
It is a bit sad to hear that the eclipse BPMN2 modeler is not kept updated, I find it useful and maybe I can contribute to fix the problem, let me know if this is still feasible.
For the open-bpmn project, I tried it with the docker version, maybe it is still in the early phase, it is not easy to use for the moment. I have to say I like the icons in the existing bpmn2 modeler better, but it will be great to have a plugin that can work on different IDEs.
May I ask about the plan about open-bpmn, will it be compatible with existing bpmn processes made by the BPMN2 modeler? And will it continue to support the jbpm runtime extension and make the process executable by the jbpm engine?
Hi,
the Eclipse-BPMN2 project is a little bit outdated and there was not much testing over the last months. This may explain the issue.
But we are working on a new solution based on the Eclipse-GLSP framework. This solution works in different IDEs and also in web.
You can take a look here: https://www.open-bpmn.org/
And if you like, you can give me some feedback. The goal is to replace the current Eclipse Plugin with a Open-BPMN plugin for Eclipse - which is not yet ready, but we are working on this ;-)
Best regards
Ralph

Hi,
Attach the screenshot here again.
Hi,
I encountered an issue when using the latest BPMN2 modeler (1.5.4) in eclipse versions (2022-12, 2023-3, 2023-12), the “process” tab in “Properties” cannot be loaded, see attached screenshot.
Could you help with this, if there is anything we can change to make it work, it would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise we have to stay in eclipse 2021-12 to use BPMN2 modeler.
Best regards,
Yvonne
