Re: [asciidoc-wg] Setup of Working Group Web Site / initial repo set up

Dan,

I asked Christopher during the call last Friday about using the Eclipse GitLab for the site, and he answered that this is not supported yet: the CI/CD process for preview (Netlify) and production build (to host the static site at Eclipse - Kubernetes AFAIK) are only supported on GitHub at the moment.

For now, I'd like to get the site working. Once we have it working, we could ask the WebDev team to prioritize hosting it on the Eclipse's GitLab repo. I understand this is something they already look into, but it doesn't have an ETA, and I don't know about milestones.

Best regards,
Alexander

Alexander,

This is great news! I really appreciate your leadership to move this forward.

Everything you've outlined regarding the site sounds good to me so far. Hugo is a great site generator and it does support AsciiDoc. It might even encourage the Go implementation to be even more active in this group (since that's really the main reason it's being worked on).

The only request I will make is that I would strongly prefer for the website source to be located on the Eclipse GitLab instance rather than on GitHub. I would like to keep all our repositories in one place. If possible, I'd like it to be under the asciidoc group at https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipse/asciidoc. However, if it has to be under the eclipsefdn group for whatever reason, I'm willing to budge a little on that.

Best Regards,

-Dan
