[asciidoc-wg] Warning about the mailing list archive pages

Fellow subscribers,

If you browse the archive pages of this mailing list at https://www.eclipse.org/lists/asciidoc-wg/2020/Jul/index.html, you may be confused by the fact that the most recent messages do not appear (perhaps your own posts). The web server that hosts the archive pages is configured (in my opinion, misconfigured) to aggressively cache these pages. So while the newer posts are there, they likely aren't visible to your browser.

To make the most recent messages appear, you must force refresh the page (i.e., reload the page without the cache), typically by pressing F5 along with a modifier key such as Shift, Ctrl, or Command.

I have reported this defect as https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=559990. Feel free to comment on that issue to let the Eclipse Foundation know if you believe the current behavior does not meet your expectations. I think they need to hear from more members to understand that this is a crucial issue, or at least a major source of confusion.

Best Regards,

-Dan

p.s. I find that the best page to view the archive is the threads view at https://www.eclipse.org/lists/asciidoc-wg/threads.html. The ordering of messages on this page matches the view most email clients show by default. So you may find it useful to bookmark it.
