We see strong value in establishing a vendor-neutral space to coordinate knowledge, monitor technological evolution, and foster collaboration across the open source AI ecosystem.

At Engineering, we are actively investing in artificial intelligence through both industrial solutions and research initiatives. In particular, we are developing advanced AI platforms and assets such as EngGPT, our enterprise generative AI solution (Explore EngGPT), a Large Language Model designed to ensure control, transparency, and compliance with European regulations such as the AI Act.

This initiative is part of a broader architectural vision, including the Italy’s Sovereign Intelligence Architecture (IS-IA), aimed at enabling secure, governable, and scalable AI adoption across organizations. Our AI ecosystem also includes frameworks and tools supporting the development of AI-driven applications and agents, enabling organizations to integrate AI into their business processes and accelerate digital transformation (Discover Engineering AI ecosystem).

In parallel, we contribute to several European research and innovation initiatives aligned with the EU vision of trustworthy AI, data spaces, and next-generation digital platforms, in line with broader European programs supporting AI innovation and collaboration (EU AI Innovation Package).

Given this experience, we are keen to contribute to the definition of shared use cases, trend analysis, and reference materials supporting the community.

We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with other members in shaping this initiative and advancing a trustworthy, interoperable, and sustainable open source AI ecosystem.
