Ivar mentioned the M1 is not so strict about that, but whenever an actual V1 is planned, there must be at least one Compatible Implementation:

 

Each Specification Version references specific versions of its constituent artifacts. These artifacts include the Specification Documents, zero or more other Specifications, one or more Compatible Implementations licensed under an Open Source License, and exactly one associated TCK for this Specification.

 

And

 

A Compatible Implementation must fulfill all requirements of a Final Specification including all requirements of the corresponding TCK. A Specification Version must identify at least one Compatible Implementation under an Open Source License that fulfills the requirements of the TCK.

 

Under https://www.eclipse.org/projects/efsp/efsp_1.3/

 

So without at least one Compatible Implementation (formerly RI) there can be no Final Release.

The M1 release is done. Please take a look. We should fix any issues before actual v1.

I’ll update the spec page, and also look at getting a website up and running next. We have enough content now.

Yes, you can go ahead and release it. It is a good way to test that the stage/release jobs are set uo correctly. Remember to send a PR to update the spec page after releasing.
