[xwt-dev] XWT have not yet declared intention to participate in Photon

Hi,

I just saw this email from Wayne.

Should we assume that XWT will drop out of the train for Photon?

(See the following email that list the projects that didn’t opt-in for Photon.)

If so, we need to check if it will be an issue for Papyrus remaining in the train.

Happy new year!

Regards,

Benoit

Objet : [cross-project-issues-dev] Some projects have not yet declared their intention to participate in Photon

I do not have any record of opt-in by any of the following projects:

  • Eclipse e(fx)clipse
  • Eclipse Sphinx
  • Eclipse Target Management
  • Eclipse Communication Framework
  • Eclipse XWT
  • Eclipse PMF
  • Eclipse Orion
  • Eclipse Accessibility Tools Framework

If your project is included on this list in error, please accept my humble apologies and send me a note. If you have an interest in any of these projects being a part of the Photon Simultaneous Release, please engage with the corresponding project team.

I have been informed by the following projects that they do not intend to participate in the release. In some cases, this is a resourcing issue; if you feel strongly that one of these projects should be in the release and have the resources to make that happen, please contact me.

  • Eclipse EGerrit
  • Eclipse Subversive SVN Team Provider

I'm working with some community members to get Eclipse Data Tools up to speed for this release. I'll make sure that we update this channel when information is available.

We're getting very close to the next milestone build. Fred and I are going to have to start the process of disabling the aggregation scripts for those projects that have not opted in very soon.

Strictly speaking, at this point project teams that have not already opted-in need to engage with their PMCs to petition the Eclipse Planning Council to approve an exception to participate. I will beg indulgence from the Planning Council to allow late comers to opt-in by the end of the week without working through the exception process.

Thanks,

Wayne
