Hi Nick,
first of all I'ld like to thank you for supporting us and for all the cool things you've built. This is very helpful. As you know there has been a bit of confusion (and lots of failed builds) during the last week and I'ld like to clarify why that happens.
As you might know, some of the Xtext committers are also committers to MWE and Xpand. That's why Xtext is developed and compiled against the HEAD version of them. Last week I changed something in Xpand in order to use it immediately in Xtext, which resulted in those failed builds.
My questions: 1) Is it possible to tell the infrastructure that whenever there is a change in the repository the corresponding build should be triggered (like one usually does with e.g. cruise control)? 2) Is it possible for the build of Xtext to wait for running builds of MWE and Xpand, so that it starts when all dependencies are available?
Or stating it via requirements :-) :
1) We would like to get feedback as soon as possible (right after check-in). 2) We need to develop against the HEAD of MWE and Xpand and therefore the build should run against the same version.
We as well work against the head of EMF, btw.
thanks, Sven
