Re: [Wtp-wst-dev] Minutes of Apache Derby telecon, 2004-10-26

We have worked on the possibilty of using derby with the Generic
server plugin. We have been able to start the server with out any
trouble, but in its current architecture Generic server plugin, having
its roots from Lomboz, is intended to be used for J2EE application
servers only. Supported modules, deployment tools, and server
definitions are all for j2ee. I think, we will need to add some
extension points to generic server plugin so that new module types and
their ways of deployment can be introduced, this feature is vital if
we wish to support derby and java stored procesures. Also we are
discussing to move each .server file in the servers directory into
seperate plugins.
