Subject: [wtp-dev] Target for WTP
1.0.1 - 1.0.1 M101
Importance: High
Here is some preliminary information about WTP 1.0.1. We'll be
planning details within the PMC and on this list. All hot bugs that have been targetted for WTP 1.0.1
should use the new target milestone = 1.0.1 M101. Thx for adding this David.
Here are the groundrules for WTP 1.0.1: 1. The target release date is mid February which gives us some time after
Eclipse 3.1.2 is released on January 31. We'll adjust the precise date based on
the volume and rate of incoming adopter bug fix requests. 2. This is a maintenance release to help adopters ship
products. Only release bug fixes that have been explicitly requested by an
adopter. These must appear on the Hot List for 1.0.1 which I'll post
soon. 3. There will be NO UI changes
and NO functional enhancements. This release is strictly for fixing serious bugs
that adopters need. Fixes should be made with minimal disruption to adopters and
other parts of WTP. 4. The work on
1.0.1 will take place in parallel with the 1.5 work. We'll set up an approriate
CVS branch structure soon. 5. We
need to build 1.0.1 in parallel with 1.5. Adopters will need timely response to
urgent fix requests so we need to produce both the fixes and builds on an
acceptable schedule. We'll set up an appropriate build structure and schedule
soon.
