1.5 feels like a good numbering –
since we won’t get started in earnest until 2006 and will need to ship
slightly earlier than 0.7 to match the platform calendar, we’re looking
at a 16-20 week cycle, which seems consistent with a 1.0 à 1.5 increment.
If we feel we’re going to break APIs,
then 2.0 would be preferable for communicating the client impact.

Subject: [wtp-pmc] Post WTP 1.0
Release Number
We are now going through the exercise of targetting
bugs to future releases. Some will end up in a post WTP 1.0 release (assume
3Q06). I'd like to create targets for that. What should the number be?
WTP
1.1 - if we don't think this is a major revision.
WTP
1.5 - since we will support J2EE 1.5
WTP
2.0 - since that is what we were calling it before the renumbering
