I certainly noticed that JBoss Tools dropped support. If I understood it correctly, their position seems to be "it's no problem, you can just use WTP". In case anyone is interested, the JBoss Tools' issue about the deprecation is https://issues.redhat.com/projects/JBIDE/issues/JBIDE-28678 .

I was surprised, too. Then I looked at the commit history for the last few years. I think there's exactly one active committer left: the project lead.
I don't see many contributions from application server vendors over the last years. As a developer using Jakarta EE and the Eclipse IDE, I would have expected Eclipse member companies to contribute to the development of the associated tooling. It seems there is no interest for that.
