Re: [wtp-dev] Wish to contribute to WTP Incubator

Hi Mickael,

Thanks! - Yes this is something we have thrown around for years, but haven't acting on...   I quickly scanned the code, and it looks like your using the m2e "ProjectConfigurator" model - which is very logical.
Do you have a common interface for "discovering" the source features?  Like you said.. this could be extended by adopters as well to include or override configuration as they desire.
I'm very interested in this.. can you forward more details?  maybe open a bugzilla to track?      We don't have a WTP status meeting this week, but I welcome you to join next Thursday?

Thanks - Chuck

Hi all,

I've contributed in e4 incubator repository an alternative import mechanism that makes the import story in Eclipse IDE much easier, by automatically detecting how to import instead of asking user to choose. This has received a very positive feedback during EclipseCon and I expect this to be integrated in Platform UI for Mars+1 (Nirvana?) and to become the preferred way for users to import projects.
In this context, I've developed some extensions to this framework that allow to handle Java EE project (by detecting web.xml and JS files), and I believe it would make sense to have them contributed to WTP incubator. They are currently located in
https://github.com/jbosstools/jbosstools-playground/tree/master/plugins.

Would you welcome such contribution? What is the best way to proceed?

Cheers,
