Re: [wtp-dev] Java EE Configuration Editors Project Proposal

Hi Konstantin,

At the PMC meeting this week, we discussed your proposal, and welcome the contribution.  We all agreed its appropriate to incubate as a subproject under the Java EE project in WTP.
Obviously we have many technical questions like Neil's earlier, but we are confident a lively discussion, and collaboration will result. We do recommend keeping this contribution as an optional feature to allow adopters the flexibility integrating into their environment, as mature offerings may have alternatives, and need time to evaluate this new feature.

So in short, our vote is Yes - and look forward to setting up this new incubator project.

I will also be glad to review, discuss issues and work with you soon about next steps.

Thanks - Chuck

Attached is a draft proposal for Java EE Configuration Editors project that I mentioned on this list before EclipseCon. Please review and comment. I have kept the document brief and to the point. If anything is unclear, please ask for more detail.

I am looking for some +1s from WTP PMC and Chuck (as Java EE Tools lead) before sending this over to EMO to start the official project creation process.

Thanks,

- Konstantin
