Re: [wtp-dev] Plans for Java EE 6 support in WTP?
|
Rochelle,
Our most recent plans for Java EE 6 can be found in the minutes section of http://wiki.eclipse.org/JEE_Status_Meetings/2008-10-23 in the minutes under 3.1 plan. The Java EE Status meetings ( http://wiki.eclipse.org/JEE_Status_Meetings ) will be where most of this discussion is held. (Although it appears that there is not one scheduled for this Thursday, and there will not be one on Thursday, November 27th due to Thanksgiving in the United States.)
As far as Java EE 6 support goes, there is not a lot planned currently for WTP 3.1. (The current plan is moreso one of tolerance of Java EE 6, rather than full Java EE 6 support. For instance, Servlet 3.0 support has already been deferred to the next major release after 3.1.)
FWIW,

I've been trying to find more info on the site on the plans for Java EE
6 support in WTP, but I've only found very limited information:
A quick mention in the minutes of a meeting in July:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/JEE_Status_Meetings/2008-07-24
A section with a couple of bugs filed/linked in the project plan:
http://www.eclipse.org/projects/project-plan.php?projectid=webtools.jeetools
Is there more? We are trying to plan for the GlassFish V3 plugin
support and would like to know what WTP will provide.
Thanks!
Rochelle
