RE: [wtp-dev] What's with the dog collar image for WTP features?
|
I'd prefer to have a separate "product
image" for WTP ... I think all the top level projects are supposed
to (in terms of the yearly simultaneous release guidelines, see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Ganymede
should-do item number 12 (it's not explicit, but that's how I read it).
I've complained about the quality of
this image before, see bug 205143
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=205143
... perhaps with added "votes"
it will get more attention?
(I'd rather fix it, than use a plain
'ol Eclipse one).

Hmm... Thanks for the background
info... So, do we really need to have a separate feature image for WTP?
I mean, if we had an awesome graphic to use, I certainly wouldn't have
anything to say about that, but I definitely see how people would look
at that and see it as a dog collar around the Eclipse globe.
So who is in favor of grouping
WTP features with features of other Eclipse projects in the about box and
removing the custom feature image?

Dave's right. It's a gear. It's based off the winning design in the
WTP logo contest we had 2 years ago.

Perhaps it has to do with the quasi-religious experience that is meant
to be found when one discovers eclipse tooling ;-)
