Component leads,
As you know, there is a significant bug backlog across the WTP
product. Now is the time to start working through some of this. I
have the
following recommendation for component leads (with the goal of
completing this work by Milestone 1).
- Review all of your untargeted severity "Major" and higher bugs,
verifying severity and targeting for 3.0 as appropriate. [1]
- Review all of your untargeted bugs with patches attached and
target as appropriate. [2]
- Review all of your untargeted Enhancements and target as
appropriate. Enhancements that are not targeted should be tagged with
the "helpwanted" keyword. This should be a good exercise for 3.0
requirements gathering. [3]
These items were probably already in your plans, but I wanted to send a
reminder. Let me know if you have any other suggestions for working
through the backlog. After taking these steps, we can look at the
remaining backlog and determine what more should be done (if anything)
at that time.
