Re: [wtp-dev] package names in WTP

Gorkam,

Yes, we are aware of this naming convention and plan to correct it.

[wtp-dev] package names in WTP

Hi,
On a recent meeting Jim des Rivières pointed that according to the
naming conventions for the eclipse "Distinct 3rd segments (following
org.eclipse.) are assigned to project within top-level projects". In
that case the package names for the web standard tools project should
be org.eclipse.wst.* and  for j2ee standard tools it should be
org.eclipse.jst.*. I believe this naming rule for packages goes for
the plugin names also.

In WTP CVS plugin names and package names do not follow the eclipse
naming conventions instead we use the top level project name as the
3rd segment.  I have opened a bug for this
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=74500.

Regards,
Gorkem Ercan
