Hi,
Over the last few months Lonnie Pryor (lonnie@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) has become an integral part of the VTP and I'd like to nominate him to become a committer on the project. COMMITTERS: Please respond to this note on vtp-dev with a reply of '+1' to signal your approval or '-1' to signal your disapproval. I will need notes from the following committers:
Derek Barnes
Michael Greenawalt
Jeffrey Kobal
Brent Metz [Approve]
Clarence Nethery
Jayant Thomas
First and foremost, Lonnie was instrumental in the transition of his company to a business model surrounding a major donation to the VTP. He is a co-author of and expert at much of the code in the VTP source tree that was donated by OpenMethods. Importantly, he has demonstrated a clear understanding of the Eclipse development process and has contributed in the open source space numerous pieces of documentation and code. For examples, see these bugzilla entries;
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=154934
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=154941
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=154965
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=154966
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=155053
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=155105
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=157882
Also importantly, Lonnie has made himself immediately available on many occasions to developers and users of the VTP for help and has shown a willingness to help bring people into the userbase. I think he will make an excellent committer to the project. Let this note serve as my +1 to get the voting started.
