The call began with a summary of the week's efforts, notably
the construction of an
article to introduce how a developer can download the voice tools source
code and make
a simple change. A discussion of what would be a good change to make occured.
One vendor's
proprietary extensions were discussed as a possible good example to incorporate.
It was agreed
to follow up offline.
 
The construction of a server audio transcription tool
was discussed. It was noted that
multiple contributers were willing to contribute to the effort. Brent noted
that by
building a pluggable data source system each participant could contribute
the
server interfaces they needed. For example, SBC could contribute a ScanSoft
engine log
interface and IBM could contribute an IBM engine log interface. The discussion
concluded
with an August timeframe to determine what shape an initial contribution
in this space
would take.
 
A face-to-face meeting during SpeechTEK was discussed.
It was proposed that interested
parties meet immediately following the New Initiatives Session on Tuesday,
August 2 at
approximately 5:30. Several callers mentioned that their companies would
be present at
the show.
