Hello Eclipse VOLTTRON Community,
We are back with the next VOLTTRON presentation. In this edition, Alex Anderson and Craig Allwardt will be presenting how VOLTTRON is used in the MAPLE LEAF project.
With rapid increases in grid edge devices beginning to affect the bulk power system, transmission utilities are seeking ways to gain visibility of the behavior of distributed energy
resources (DER) in aggregate. As part of the MAPLE LEAF and MAPLE BRANCH projects, PNNL, ORNL, and Vermont Electric Power Company (VELCO) are using the VOLTTRON platform as part of a multi-cloud standards-based testbed to improve sensor data integration and
demonstrate novel DER use cases. The GridAPPS-D and VOLTTRON platforms will provide data integration for 32 substations and 70 distribution feeders, running on 28 Raspberry PI edge nodes in the PNNL Power Electronics Lab.
