Hi,

I couldn't find a way to unassign, only
to reassign to default for component. But the default for many of the components
in VE is Gili Mendel. He also is not an active committer.

So you need to get the Webmaster to
change these components to have some active person (or to the new inbox
you are talking about) to be the default assignee for all of the components.

To all past committer that are no longer active, I am kindly asking the
following:
Review quickly the bugs that are assigned to you, and de-assign them.
Also we would need to setup some new categories in Bugzilla and a
general inbox to track for new VE bugs.
I will ask the web master that.
