Re: [udig-users] WMS displays polygons of the extent of imagery

Hi,

I believe that all WMS clients will show this service in the same way. This is a standard GetMap and you can test it with a browser.

I’m loading a WMS from the NYS orthoimagery program (http://www.orthos.dhses.ny.gov/ArcGIS/services/2009/MapServer/WMSServer?) and only the outline of the extent of the imagery appears on the screen. I thought the rendering preferences might have something to do with it, but I’m not sure how. All I can control is the order in which it tries to render as different imagery types. I’m told by the NYS Orthoimagery Program manager that the WMS service serves up JPG imagery for all tiles except those tiles that make up the border for a particular service. Border (the outside boundary) tiles are served up in a PNG format to help with transparency issues when layering multiple services/years in a WMS session. Is this too complex for the renderer in uDig to handle, or is there some other option I’m not seeing that would render the actual imagery and not just show the outline/polygon of the imagery extent?

Thanks,
