Thanks for the bug submission, and the previous tip from Ralph B.H. was also helpful in getting the error resolved - though for my limited programming skills (nil) this was a job and a half so I got help from a friend in the end.

I don't seem to have a tip from Ralph? Perhaps he only sent it to you?

uDig rocks and is more fun to use being from BC (I like all the WMS links to BC Gov datasets)!
I find it opens large (GB) datasets of shapefiles with ease. Great work.

The web page shown there is a wiki; so people are free to add links to data from all over the world.
