[udig-users] Image layer

How do I add a layer that contains a image?
If I do "Add", data source "File" and I select a image I receive the 
error "unable to recognize service, choose another".

However I can add images from the sample data archive - 
http://udig.refractions.net/docs/data-v1_1.zip.
But if I move the image from the directory where I unpacked the archive 
and I try to import it again I receive the same error.
There must be something in that unpacked directory that allows me to 
import the image.

So, if I have a new project, with a new map in it, how can I create a 
layer with a image in this map?
