[udig-users] advanced editing tool preference -- what "advanced" functionality does it make available?

Hi All (especially Jesse),
When you engage "advanced editing" in the edit tool's preferences,
what new "advanced" functionality becomes available? I have worked
with udig with this setting both off and on, and I have not noticed
any difference.
I would like to select multiple features and move them all as a group
(that is slide them all from their current location to a new
location), and so far, it seems that this cannot be done. I am
hopeful that "advanced" editing can provide this functionality. (Note
that on a tip from Jody Garnett that reshape may be able to accomplish
this task, but I have yet to find the function for translating
geometries -- the user documentation is currently off-line.)
