Re: [udig-users] Install uDIG in Eclipse 3.4

Hi Gary; we just talked about that in todays IRC meeting (logs posted on the website). We will try and update to Eclipse 3.4 this week. Please note that uDig is a stand-alone application; so the version of Eclipse "Rich Client Platform" used behind the scenes does not effect end users.

I understand for developers that this is important.

The update-community site you refer to contains community modules that are added to an existing uDig installation.

To work with uDig as a developer you have two options:
- download an "SDK" to use as a target platform (great for building your own application on top of uDig)
- check out the source code and build it yourself

Please read over the SDK Quickstart on the web site is provides an ordered introduction for developers:

Is it possible to install uDIG in Eclipse 3.4? If so what is the best way to do it. I tried using the update site http://udig.refractions.net/update-community but ran into errors. Gary Schultz, Web Administrator
