Hmm odd.  They both work on my 64  bit linux desktop.

I'm not a linux guy so tell my why not?  It works on my machine

Give me an idea how to set the workspace and I'll do it otherwise I'm  
stuck with playing with shell scripts.

This works fine for me.  Could you verify that the java binary is  
executable.  That was the problem that I encountered.
