Mauricio is the person to talk to, as far as I know they have a new 
version ready (timed to work with the 1.1.0 release) and should be 
sending out an email any day now.

As for where you can find it (today):
- download an older copy of udig - say RC12 as you mentioned below
- follow the instructions here: 
http://udig.refractions.net/confluence/display/EN/Axios+uDig+Extensions
