Re: [udig-users] Save project

We originally had an open/safe life cycle but it was much hated (how to turn it off was the first question every developer asked when starting to use uDig).

Save is still responsible for:
- will do any outstanding commit
- will save any temporary resource out to disk

Andrea we could make "auto save" a preference option, and there is no reason you could not add a "Save As".

Hi Corrado,
the question is not trivial in my opinion. Udig misses a proper
project management.
The project is autosaved at every "move", so it is not really possible
to save a project. The menu entries you see are related to the layers.
i.e. you can save layeres that you modified.

The real problem of all this is that it is not possible to save
projects and send them to another guy to take a look at it.
Also when udig crashes it sometimes takes to hell also the workspace,
which holds the projects and everything is lost.

easy thing to define and I think it will take some more time. Perhaps
this could be a good SoC project?

Ciao
Andrea

 Thanks

 Corrado
